Eurostat is the statistical office of the European Union situated in Luxembourg. Its mission is to collect statistical information from national statistical offices and harmonize data allowing comparison of data between countries and regions.
Eurostat portal makes available statistics (at national and regional level) in the following areas:
- Economy and finance;
- Population and social conditions;
- Industry, trade and services
- Agriculture and fisheries
- International trade
- Transport;
- Environment and energy;
- Science and Technology.
Eurostat publishes statistical data on individual EU Member States, the candidate countries, the Mediterranean countries and the leading world economies, as well as aggregated data for the whole European Union and for the eurozone.
