The ScienceDirect database contains electronic versions of journals and books in various scientific disciplines published by Elsevier.
Since 2010, the access to ScienceDirect resources is granted by nationwide license funded entirely by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and managed by the Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computational Modelling (ICM).
Due to the limitation of the national license, some collections within the database have been excluded since 2023.
Krakow University of Economics subscribes to 3 thematic collections not subsidised by the Ministry (access to articles published after January 1, 2019):
- Business Management and Accounting,
- Social Sciences,
- Economics, Econometrics and Finance.
Access to the Journal of Cleaner Production is provided on the same basis.
In addition, the agreement signed by KUE allows the use of the archives of the following individual titles with perpetual access rights:

The database is co-financed by the Ministry of Education and Science. KUE subscribes to 3 subject collections excluded from the national licence: Business Management and Accounting; Social Sciences; Economics, Econometrics and Finance.
