Open Access Publication at KUEOpen access publishing

Oxford  University Press

Fees and magazines covered?

The program covers 357 OUP hybrid journals with an unlimited article pool (please note: the list also includes journals that are not included in the program, journals covered by the program are highlighted in colour and have ‘yes’ in column D). The OUP program does not cover fully open access journals, but correspondence authors from covered institutions can benefit from a 10% discount to the APC fee for these journals.

How to use the program?

  1. Once your article has been accepted for publication, you’ll receive an email from the OUP production team with a link to OUP’s online licensing and payment system. Click on the link and sign in.
  2. Once logged in, choose the appropriate licence under which your article will be published in the journal. To publish open access and request to use of Polish Institutions (ICM Consortium) funds you should choose one of the open access licences available (the range of open access licences available varies by the journal), and then click the green ‘Select’ button at the bottom of the page. If you’re unsure of your eligibility, check with your institution before agreeing on the licence.
  3. Confirm you accept the licence terms.
  4. Select ‘Polish Institutions (ICM Consortium) to request to use of funds to pay the OA charge.
  5. Provide supporting information and confirm.

More information and step-by-step guide, you will find here.

Retroactivation: authors from institutions covered by the program in 2024 who have published their articles in the subscription model during the period of suspension of the program, i.e. January to September 2024, in journals covered by the program, will receive information from the publisher about the possibility of converting the article to the open access model under the program. The publisher will send out this information immediately after the launch of the program. The author who would like to take advantage of this opportunity should send an email with confirmation to the publisher (the “opt-in” principle). Retroactivation will be possible until December 2024.

Please pay attention!

It is important to use an email address from the domain of the institution participating in the programme, which guarantees that the system will automatically send a request for article verification to the consortium administrator.
