RODBUK – Cracow Open Research Data Repository
Please note!
RODBUK – Cracow Open Research Data Repository should be a first-choice repository for publishing research data for academic workers, doctoral students and students of KUE.
RODBUK usage is free of charge after registration by university e-mail.
RODBUK was founded on the initiative of Board of Directors of the Krakow Library Group. RODBUK is co-created by six Cracow universities:
- AGH University of Science and Technology,
- University of Physical Education in Krakow,
- Cracow University of Technology,
- Krakow University of Economics,
- Jagiellonian University in Kraków,
- Pedagogical University of Krakow.
The purpose of RODBUK is to collect, develop, archive and make available in open access all types of research data created by researchers, PhD candidates and students in the course of scientific activity.
RODBUK aims to implement the Open Science policy by creating a publicly available platform for depositing research datasets enabling:
- getting acquainted with the research conducted in Cracow’s scientific centers,
- storage of various types of research data,
- quick access to information through a user-friendly search interface,
- high quality of descriptive meta data,
- obtaining a permanent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for each dataset,
- standardized data citation,
- choosing a data usage license agreement (Creative Commons or other),
- setting embargoes and unlocking of restricted files.
RODBUK provides support in the form of advice on best practices for preparing data for sharing. The Repository is based on open source software, the Dataverse platform. RODBUK allows to collect and share open research data from various disciplines and in all file formats. Thanks to this, data is indexed and cited, which has a positive effect on its dissemination and promotion.
RODBUK is registered in:
– Re3data – an international registry of research data repositories from all academic disciplines. Re3data allows you to search and browse repositories by field of knowledge, country, and type of research data;
– OpenDOAR – an international registry of open repositories;
– EOSC Marketplace – a catalogue of the European EOSC (European Open Science Cloud) infrastructure which is designed to make it easier for scientists to search, share and reuse publications, data and software.
All published metadata meets the guidelines provided by Open AIRE and research funding institutions such as the National Science Centre (NCN) and the European Union. RODBUK applies the FAIR Principles.
The research data deposited in RODBUK will be long-term managed and preserved on dedicated servers of the Academic Computer Centre Cyfronet AGH according to the highest standards of security against their loss.
